CPC opened the Land and Hope Preschool (Preescolar Tierra y Esperanza) in 2000. Since its opening, the preschool has provided a balanced education in a structured environment that prepares children for kindergarten.
The children learn to share and follow instructions, make their own choices, develop fine and gross motor skills, take care of themselves and others, cultivate their curiosity, and develop social, emotional, pre-literacy, pre-mathematics, and cognitive skills--all while in a loving, Christian environment.
The school is located on the second floor of the Juanita Bowsher Medical and Community Center. Experienced teachers, both American and Mexican, have taught classes at the Land and Hope Preschool.
Unfortunately, CPC has been forced to suspend classes at the preschool for one year due to a lack of reliable funding for the program. We have seen the positive effects the preschool has had in its first 11 years of operation, and recognize its potential to impact the lives of not only the children, but the prosperity of the communities in which we serve. We hope to be able to re-open the preschool soon.
We want to continue to encourage the children to be active, contributing members of society; they are the future of Mexico.
